Q: What is the best treatment to remove varicose veins?

Although there are many different treatment options, it is imperative to find the right method for each patient as there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution for treating varicose veins. In my opinion most people require more than one type of treatment to effectively deal with their veins. The latest NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidelines recommend that patients should be offered suitable treatment in this order: endothermal ablation, ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, surgery and compression hosiery. Newer treatments like radiofrequency ablation VNUS and Laser EVLT close off the veins using heat. They are highly effective, less invasive and promote faster recovery.

Q: How long will thread vein removal treatments last?

This varies from person to person. In most cases the same veins will not reoccur, but new veins can appear in other areas of your body which might require treatment.
